Katherine Harte-DeCoux

Katherine Harte-DeCoux (Founder/Artistic Director) is a director/actor/ playwright originally from Michigan, and has studied Shakespeare, stage combat, and history while abroad in London and Scotland. She has directed numerous Shakespeare works for Mortal Folly, for Bushwick Shakespeare Repertory, and for New Jersey’s Hudson Shakespeare Company.  At Looking Glass Theatre she directed BROADSIDE!, conceived and created with a coterie of female collaborators — a collection of historically-inspired, combat-heavy shorts which included her own play, LIEUTENANT NUN: THE THRILLING ADVENTURES OF CATALINA DE ERAUSO.  As an actress, Kate has appeared in the Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival’s ROMEO & JULIET, END CALIGULA at the Midtown International Theatre Festival, and originated the role of Delia Bacon in The Tank’s production of James Armstrong’s THE TRUE AUTHOR REVEALED (Best American Short Plays, 2008-09). She is currently a 2nd-year MFA candidate in directing at Brooklyn College, where she recently directed a one-act adaptation of Shakespeare’s A WINTER’S TALE, and participated in the 2014 Gi60, the One Minute Play Festival.
